Fear of Flying...

I know this first part has NOTHING to do with the title but I finally figured out how to upload pictures! Yay! :)

Back to the fear of flying thing...

I have been on airplanes and they've all gone rather smoothly but for some reason, I am still SO afraid of them! It is the only form of anxiety I've seen in my life since early college, but I cannot seem to get rid of it.

The reason behind me mentioning it is because I am getting on a plane tomorrow! I have been planning on going on this cruise to the Bahamas with 3 of my friends for close to a year now. The day has finally almost gotten here and while I am really excited to go, and busy with getting everything done ahead of time...my fear of airplanes is in the back of my mind.

I am thinking that, after graduation in May, I will start taking some flying lessons. I feel like that may help me overcome this fear.

For now, I will try to use the power of positive thinking...and pray a lot. :)

We don't recieve wisdom...

...we must discover it for ourselves after a journey that no one can take.

I wrote my first article. It was published in November's magazine and there was a spectacular feeling inside as I opened the first page to see my name under "Staff Reporters"...and even more exciting when I flipped to page 14 and saw MY article with MY name on it!!
Its funny really...what an impact this has had on my life. I changed my major to mass communications and there have been a few times this semester when Ive wondered if I made a mistake. After seeing that article, and hearing from a few friends (thank you for your support you guys), I am feeling pretty confident that I've found my niche. Good...

Call to Action

Have you ever seen a movie that leaves you feeling like you NEED to take action? I saw Blood Diamond the other night. It was a really REALLY good movie! Not your "happy little elf" movie that Lemony Snicket talks about...but still a VERY good movie. There was a lot of blood and gore because it basically shows you what the genocides in Africa look like. Very sad.

I dont think Im going to be able to type a complete thought but I am going to try...

Every once in awhile, I get this little feeling inside of me that tells me that life is so much bigger than the everyday mundane things (that bog me down) and that I need to make a difference. Ive been having that feeling lately...and after seeing Blood Diamond, I feel like my "little feeling" has turned into a mountain sized bolder. I want to make a difference!

Hopefully I am on the right path...

There's this song that I want to sing someday on a CD...its the true cry of my heart. It says "No more lives torn apart. Then wars would never start. And time would heal our hearts. Everyone would have a friend. And light would always win. And love would never end...this is my grown up Christmas wish" (Amy Grant).I think thats all for now. I want to make a difference!
